It’s an easy concept, but so many people will not put themselves out to defend the defenseless. A Florida woman told a Local Florida ABC affiliate that she reported Jared Fogle’s sexual abuse of minors. For this she should be commended for her bravery because if you see something, hear something, you should report it to the authorities.
If only the Catholic Bishops did this. If only their Vicar Generals did this. If only the Review Boards of the Church and Religious Orders did this. If only employees who witness abuse or suspicious unusual sexual interest of students and parishioners did this. If only someone who saw something, said something, thousands of children could have been spared the horror of their sexual abuse. But that did not happen in the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s in the Catholic Church and elsewhere. I suspect it will not happen in the 2020s or in the future either by the Catholic Church or other entities like the New York Department of Education, private and public schools and after school programs.
Today though, I commend this woman for her bravery. She saved many children’s lives the very day she reported it. Most pedophile priests and secular pedophiles abuse over 200 children in their lifetime.
